Seit der Spielzeit 2004/05 sang Diane Pilcher an der Komischen Oper Berlin die alte Buryja in »Jenufa«, die Florence Pike in »Albert Herring«, die Filipjewna in »Jewgeni Onegin« und die Amelfa in »Der goldene Hahn«. Als Filipjewna und Amelfa wird sie auch in der Spielzeit 2006/07 auf der Bühne unseres Hauses zu erleben sein.

Diane Pilcher was born in South California. She took singing classes at the California State University in Fullerton and has passed her studies with distinction. She has obtained a bachelor degree in music and a magister in singing. Both in 1977 and 1980 she was finalist in audition at the New York Metropolitan Opera. From 1978 to 1981, Diane Pilcher worked in the Voice Coaching Department of the Crystal Cathedral Performing Arts Center in Garden Grov (California) and was guest in Dr. Robert Schuller's television programme ''Hour of Power''. She sang concerts in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego and Hamburg. Since 1982 she lives in Germany and sings mainly in Europe. Diane Pilcher sings parts, such as, Mrs. Quickly in Verdi's »Falstaff«, Zita in Puccini's »Giannni Schicchi«, Herodias in Richard Strauss’ »Salome« and Countess in Tchaikovsky's »Pique Dame«.
Since the 2004/05 season, she was singing at the Komische Oper Berlin the old Buryja in »Jenufa«, Florence Pike in »Albert Herring«, Filipjewna in »Jewgeni Onegin« and Amelfa in »The Golden Cockerel«. She will be onstage as Filipjewna and Amelfa as well in the 2006/07 season at our House.
