The soprano was born in Hamburg and has singing with Norma Sharp in Berlin. Already during her studies, she has gathered her first experiences onstage - at home and abroad, amongst others with Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Wiesbaden Staatstheater, in Klagenfurt and in Linz. Her first permanent engagement took the soprano to the Lucerne Theatre in 1999, where she sang Agathe in »The Freeshooter«, Governess in The Turn of the Screw, Hanna Glawari in »The Merry Widow« and Donna Anna in »Don Giovanni«. Guest engagements took her, amongst others, to the Opera Houses of Bremen and Basle, the Leipzig Staatsoper, the Aalto-Theater Essen, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and to the Hanover State Opera House. In the year 2000, Bettina Jensen was a scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Association in Bayreuth. Then, in the 2001/02 season, she has joined the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin, where she sang Marenka in »The Bartered Bride« and the parts of Agathe, Micaela in »Carmen« and Hanna Glawari. In the 2006/07 season, further roles included Rosalinde in »The Bat«, Donna Anna, Countess in »The Marriage of Figaro« and First Lady in the new production of »The Magic Flute«. In the 2007/08 season, she will again be seen as Agathe and on top of that as Lisa in »Land of Smile«. In the 2009/10 she will be performing Rosalinde in »The Bat« again.
