Die Sopranistin wurde in Hamburg geboren und studierte bei Norma Sharp in Berlin Gesang. Schon während des Studiums sammelte sie erste Bühnenerfahrungen im In- und Ausland, u. a. an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden, am Staatstheater Wiesbaden, in Klagenfurt und Linz. Ihr erstes Festengagement führte die Sopranistin 1999 an das Luzerner Theater, wo sie als Agathe in »Der Freischütz«, Gouvernante in »The Turn of the Screw«, Hanna Glawari in »Die lustige Witwe« und Donna Anna in »Don Giovanni« zu erleben war. Gastspiele führten sie u.a. an die Opern in Bremen und Basel, die Staatsoper Leipzig, das Aalto-Theater Essen, die Deutsche Oper Berlin und die Staatsoper Hannover. Im Jahr 2000 war Bettina Jensen Stipendiatin des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes in Bayreuth. Mit der Spielzeit 2001/02 wechselte sie als Ensemblemitglied an die Komische Oper Berlin und übernahm u. a. die Partien Marenka in »Die verkaufte Braut«, Agathe, Micaela in »Carmen« und Hanna Glawari. In der Spielzeit 2006/07 war sie an der Komischen Oper Berlin außer Rosalinde in »Die Fledermaus« noch Donna Anna, Gräfin in »Die Hochzeit des Figaro« und Erste Dame in der Produktion der »Zauberflöte«. In der Spielzeit 2009/10 ist sie erneut als Rosalinde in »Die Fledermaus« zu erleben.

The soprano was born in Hamburg and has singing with Norma Sharp in Berlin. Already during her studies, she has gathered her first experiences onstage - at home and abroad, amongst others with Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Wiesbaden Staatstheater, in Klagenfurt and in Linz. Her first permanent engagement took the soprano to the Lucerne Theatre in 1999, where she sang Agathe in »The Freeshooter«, Governess in The Turn of the Screw, Hanna Glawari in »The Merry Widow« and Donna Anna in »Don Giovanni«. Guest engagements took her, amongst others, to the Opera Houses of Bremen and Basle, the Leipzig Staatsoper, the Aalto-Theater Essen, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and to the Hanover State Opera House. In the year 2000, Bettina Jensen was a scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Association in Bayreuth. Then, in the 2001/02 season, she has joined the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin, where she sang Marenka in »The Bartered Bride« and the parts of Agathe, Micaela in »Carmen« and Hanna Glawari. In the 2006/07 season, further roles included Rosalinde in »The Bat«, Donna Anna, Countess in »The Marriage of Figaro« and First Lady in the new production of »The Magic Flute«. In the 2007/08 season, she will again be seen as Agathe and on top of that as Lisa in »Land of Smile«. In the 2009/10 she will be performing Rosalinde in »The Bat« again.
