Von „Funny, how?“ bis „Fools At Work“ hat Hauschoreograf Samir Akika bereits so manchen Winkel zwischen persönlicher Geschichte, künstlerischem Experiment und Tanzspektakel ausgefüllt. In „Joujouville“ führt er das Ensemble von Unusual Symptoms nun an einen imaginären Ort des Spiels und der Fantasie. Mit Humor und Absurdität besuchen die Tänzer:innern einen Raum der Kindheit, in dem nicht die Regeln der Vernunft, sondern die Freiheit der Vorstellungskraft das Zusammenleben bestimmen. Doch wie unschuldig kann man spielen, wenn man kein Kind mehr ist? Und was kommt zum Vorschein, wenn über die vertrauten Orte der Imagination die Nacht hereinbricht?

From “Funny, how?” to “Fools At Work”, house choreographer Samir Akika filled many a nook and cranny between personal history, artistic experiment, and dance spectacle. In “Joujouville”, he now takes the Unusual Symptoms ensemble to an imaginary place of play and fantasy. With humor and absurdity, the dancers visit a space of childhood in which it is not the rules of reason but the freedom of imagination that determines how we live together. But how innocent can you play when you are no longer a child? And what comes to light when night falls over the familiar places of the imagination?
