Der US-amerikanische Improvisations-Großmeister, Multiinstrumentalist und Komponist Elliott Sharp trifft auf das Kölner Trio Debacker/Hübsch/Javaid!

Elliott Sharp positioniert sich mit seiner Musik - sowohl als Komponist Zeitgenössischer Musik als auch als Improvisator - zwischen den Genres und bewegt sich zwischen Neuer Musik, Jazz und Rock.

Ähnlich stilistisch breit aufgestellt ist das Kölner Ensemble Hübsch/Debacker/Javaid - die Musik des Trios ist klanglich präzise ausgehörte Interaktion. Scheinbar vielfältige Ansätze werden von einem konsequenten, bis auf den kleinsten Moment fokussierenden Spiel getragen. Erweiterte Spieltechniken, „normale Klänge“, scheinbar Banales oder auch Virtuoses findet in diesem Universum vorurteilslos seinen Platz. Die Form entsteht von selbst, zusammengehalten vom reichhaltigen Hörschatz der drei Protagonist*innen.

Diese Vielfalt hat System: als Veranstalter*innen und „Hausband“ der Kölner Improvisationsreihe „Plattform Nicht Dokumentierbarer Ereignisse“ treffen die drei seit Jahren auf verschiedenste Vertreter*innen der abstrakten Improvisation.

Man darf bei diesem first meeting gespannt sein, in welche Gefilde sich die Musik begeben wird!

The US-American improvisation grandmaster, multi-instrumentalist and composer Elliott Sharp meets the Cologne trio Debacker/Hübsch/Javaid!

Elliott Sharp positions himself with his music - both as a composer of contemporary music and as an improviser - between the genres and moves between new music, jazz and rock.

The Cologne ensemble Hübsch/Debacker/Javaid is similarly stylistically broadly positioned - the music of the trio is sonically precise interaction. Seemingly diverse approaches are carried by consistent playing that focuses down to the smallest moment. Extended playing techniques, "normal sounds", seemingly banal or even virtuoso finds its place in this universe without prejudice. The form arises of its own accord, held together by the rich listening treasures of the three protagonists.

This diversity has a system: as organizers and "house band" of the Cologne improvisation series "Plattform Nicht Dokumentierbarer Ereignisse", the three have been meeting the most diverse representatives of abstract improvisation for years.
