Dietrich Henschel
Über mich
###
Dietrich Henschel began his international career by taking over the title parts of Henze's Prince of Homburg at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and of Busoni' s Doctor Faustus at the Opéra National de Lyon.
In direct succession were amongst others engagements at Paris' most important opera houses: here he sang amongst others in Gluck' s »Alcéste« under Eliot Gardiner, in »Die schweigsame Frau« under Christoph von Dohnanyi as well as in »Pelléas et Mélisande« in the legendary staging of Robert Wilson. The repertory of the baritone includes parts of Monteverdi, Mozart, Rossini, Wagner and Strauss up to the opera of the 20th century. Until now, guest engagements took him amongst others to Berlin,
Amsterdam, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, to the Festivals of Aix-en-Provence and Salzburg and also to the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Dietrich Henschel has be seen onstage at the Komische Oper Berlin in the part of Don Alfonso in »Così fan tutte« and will be the Don Giovanni this season.
