Soteris Chrysostomou (*1993) erhielt seinen ersten Posaunenunterricht im Alter von zehn Jahren bei Kelly Alijani. 2008 wechselte er an die stattliche Musikschule in Nikosia, wo er in der Klasse bei Panayiotis Karatzias Unterricht nahm.
2012 führte ihn sein Weg nach Deutschland, wo er bei Prof. Otmar Strobel an der
Hochschule für Musik Detmold sein Studium aufnahm und später erfolgreich mit dem Bachelor und Master abschloss. Für sein Studium erhielt er 2011 ein Stipendium von der Heritage Foundation Ifigenia und Charalambos Maratheftis. Des Weiteren erhielt er im Oktober 2013 beim Interpretationswettbewerb des Alumnivereins und des AStA der HfM Detmold den Förderpreis.
Als Solist konzertierte er mit Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra und dem Hochschulorchester der HfM Detmold. Von 2013 bis 2015 war er Mitglied im European Union Youth Orchestran, wo er u.a. in Konzertsälen wie dem Concertgebouw Amsterdam, The Royal Albert Hall London und dem Konzerthaus Berlin spielte. Dort erhielt er bei der Sommertournee 2014 die Lionel Bryer Auszeichnung. In den Spielzeiten 2016 bis 2018 war er Akademist beim Deutschen Nationaltheater und der Staatskapelle Weimar. Seit dem August 2019 ist Soteris Chrysostomou Soloposaunist beim Sinfonieorchester Aachen.
