Indira Nicole Anna Koch (Stellvertretende Konzertmeisterin, Violine) wurde in den USA geboren und ist in der Schweiz aufgewachsen. Dort erhielt sie ihren ersten Unterricht bei ihrer Mutter und bei Francoise Zöldy. Sie studierte an der Menuhin Akademie Gstaad bei Alberto Lysy, am Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia bei Prof. Aaron Rosand (Bachelors of Music) und an der Juilliard School in New York bei Prof. Robert Mann, wo sie 1997 ihr Studium mit dem Abschluss »Master of Music« beendete. Wichtige Impulse erhielt sie darüber hinaus bei Meisterkursen von Yehudi Menuhin, Miriam Fried und Franco Gulli. Während ihres Studiums gewann sie den Artists International Award in New York. Dieser Erfolg war mit einem Rezital in der Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie verbunden. Zudem ist sie Erste Preisträgerin des Violinwettbewerbs »citta di stresa«. Seit November 1999 ist Indira Koch 2. Konzertmeisterin an der Deutschen Oper Berlin. Regelmäßig nimmt sie an Festivals in Japan, Indien, der Schweiz sowie in Südafrika teil. Indira Koch lebt zusammen mit ihrem Mann Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt und ihren vier Kindern in Berlin.
