Dr. Frauke Bagusche, ist Meeresbiologin. Sie studierte Biologie in Frankfurt am Main, forschte an den Universitäten in Wien und Paris-Sud an Meeresorganismen und promovierte in England am National Oceanography Centre, Southampton über die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf marine kalkbildende Organismen. Auf den Malediven leitete sie zwei meeresbiologische Stationen und arbeitete als professionelle Tauchsportlerin in Ägypten. Mit der Aquapower-Expedition segelte sie zehn Wochen lang 9.500 km von der Karibik durch den Atlantik ins Mittelmeer, um auf die Plastikverschmutzung der Ozeane aufmerksam zu machen. Derzeit arbeitet sie als freiberufliche Dozentin und Buchautorin in Deutschland (www.fraukebagusche.com) und hat zusammen mit einer Kollegin den Verein "The Blue Mind" gegründet (www.thebluemind.org). Mit Ihrem Buch "Das blaue Wunder" möchte sie Menschen für das Meer begeistern und für Themen wie die Vermüllung durch Plastik sensibilisieren.
