Frank Wesner stammt aus Berlin und studierte dort an der Humboldt-Universität Theaterwissenschaften, Kulturelle Kommunikation und Informatik.

Frank Wesner stammt aus Berlin und studierte dort an der Humboldt-Universität Theaterwissenschaften, Kulturelle Kommunikation und Informatik.
Zunächst freischaffend als Regieassistent arbeitete er an der Neuköllner Oper Berlin, am Landestheater Neustrelitz, am Nationaltheater Mannheim und bei den Schlossfestspielen Ettlingen. Anschließend wechselt er von 2001 bis 2005 als Regieassistent ins Schauspielensemble des Eduard-von-Winterstein-Theaters Annaberg-Buchholz.
Er inszenierte in eigener Fassung und mit deutschen Liedtexten JENTL (Singer / Legrand / Bergman) am Hackeschen Hoftheater Berlin, HEUTE ABEND: LOLA BLAU von Georg Kreisler in Annaberg und DIE MAGD ALS HERRIN (Pergolesi) an der Moritzbastei Leipzig.
Nach einer Gastinspizienz am Landestheater Detmold ist er von November 2005 bis Dezember 2007 Inspizient an der Oper des Theater Dortmunds, wo er neben den Inszenierungen von Christine Mielitz (Wagners RING DES NIBELUNGEN, ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL, RIGOLETTO) und den Balletten von Xin Peng Wang (MOZART, HOMMAGE AN BACH) weitere Opern und Musicals sowie Sonderveranstaltungen wie den Opernball inspizierte.
Im Januar 2008 der Wechsel an die Deutsche Oper Berlin, wo er als Inspizient neben zahlreichen Übernahmen bei den Produktionen JEANNE D´ARC - SZENEN AUS DEM LEBEN DER HEILIGEN JOHANNA und DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER beteiligt ist.
