In the first part of the trilogy ‘perform performing’ – on the sense and nonsense of regarding dance as work – Jochen Roller examines the conditions under which he practices his profession as a dancer. Starting from the assumption that work equals earning money, he calculates the amount made working and the amount that dance really costs.
