Gründung einer eigenen Theatergruppe und Regieassistenzen am Theater der Stadt Heidelberg. 1999 Engagement als Dramaturgin für Öffentlichkeitsarbeit am Theater an der Ruhr. 2001 wechselt sie als Dramaturgin an das Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus unter der Intendanz von Anna Badora. Von 2007 bis 2013 ist sie Dramaturgin am Schauspiel Köln unter der Intendanz von Karin Beier, mit der sie 2013 als Dramaturgin ans Deutsche SchauSpielHaus Hamburg wechselt. Neben ihrer Arbeit als Dramaturgin übernimmt sie verschiedene Lehrtätigkeiten am Institut für Medienkultur und Theater an der Universität Köln und an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.
Sybille Meier arbeitet kontinuierlich mit SIGNA, Katie Mitchell, Karin Henkel, René Pollesch, Viktor Bodó, Barbara Bürk und Clemens Sienknecht zusammen.
