Die Brasilianerin Paula Alves begann bereits im Alter von fünf Jahren ihre Tanzausbildung an der Fundação das Artes de São Caetano do Sul und später an der Especial Academia de Ballet in São Paolo, Brasilien. Erste Bühnenerfahrungen sammelte sie während ihrer Engagements bei der Conpanhia Brasileira de Danças Clássicas, als Elevin des Texas Ballets und zuletzt als Mitglied der São Paulo Dance Company. Sie tanzte u.a. Odette/Odile in Mario Galizzi’s „Schwanensee“, Choreographien von Uwe Scholz, Thiago Bordin, Marcia Haydée und Ben Stevenson. 2011 gewann sie im New Yorker Finale des Youth America Grand Prix die Silber Medaille der Junior Division.
Paula Alves wird mit dieser Spielzeit neues Mitglied der Compagnie des Ballett am Rhein.
Brasilian born Paula Alves started her dance education at the age of 5 with Fundação das Artes de São Caetano do Sul and later started studying at the Especial Academia de Ballet in São Paolo,Brazil. She made her first professional stage appearances with Conpanhia Brasileira de Danças Clássicas, as an apprentice with Texas Ballet und most recently as a member of São Paulo Dance Company. She performed as Odette/Odile in Mario Galizzi’s „Swan Lake“ and in choreographies by Uwe Scholz, Thiago Bordin, Marcia Haydée and Ben Stevenson. In 2011 she was awarded with a silver medal in the NYC Finale of the Youth America Grand Prix in the junior division.
From this season on Paula Alves is a new member of the Ballett am Rhein company.
