STAX (Schtaks) ist das Quartett um Schlagzeuger und Komponist Max Stadtfeld. Seit 2013 lebt er in Leipzig. Zunächst als Studierender und seit einigen Jahren als freischaffender Musiker. 2019 erschien das Debüt Album von STAX auf ACT Music. Ebenfalls 2019 hatte Max Stadtfeld die Möglichkeit in Michael Wollny’s „Bau.Haus.Klang“ das Bauhaus-Festival in Berlin zu eröffnen. 2018 und 2019 konnte er mit dem Philipp Rumsch Ensemble und Heuken/Stadtfeld/Heigenhuber den Leipziger Jazzpreis gewinnen.
2022 erscheint das zweite Album von STAX Suboptimal auf dem Kölner Label KLAENG

STAX (Schtaks) is the quartet around drummer and composer Max Stadtfeld. He has been living in Leipzig since 2013. First as a student and since a few years as a freelance musician. In 2019, the debut album of STAX was released on ACT Music. Also in 2019 Max Stadtfeld had the opportunity to open the Bauhaus Festival in Berlin in Michael Wollny’s „Bau.Haus.Klang“. In 2018 and 2019, he won the Leipzig Jazz Prize with the Philipp Rumsch Ensemble and Heuken/Stadtfeld/Heigenhuber.

2022 will see the release of STAX Suboptimal’s second album on the Cologne-based label KLAENG.
