The chamber singer was born in the Silesian Stonava (Czech Republic). He studied at the Janáèek-Academy of the Fine Arts in Brno and graduated with the title »Magister Artis«. Since 1975 he is engaged at the Komische Oper Berlin. Here he sang amongst others Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro, Marullo in Rigoletto, Dreieinigkeitsmoses in Rise and fall of the city of Mahagonny, Kothner in The mastersinger of Nuremberg, Pimen in Boris Godunow, Kaspar in The Freeshooter and Popolati in Bluebeard, also Orsini in Rienzi, Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana, Kecal in The Bartered Bride, Wassermann in Rusalka as well as Leporello in Don Giovanni. Guest performances took the busy bass baritone amongst others several times to Japan, Moscow, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Vienna. Klemens Slowioczek was seen onstage at the Komische Oper Berlin amongst others as Figaro in Walter Felsenstein' s The Marriage of Figaro, as Frank in The Bat, as D’Obigny in La Traviata, Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, as Kuno in The Freeshooter, Farfarello in The Love of Three Oranges, as Chamberlain in The dwarf and as Bogdanovich in The Merry Widow. Besides, he sang in the 2004/05 season the parts of the Village Judge in Jenufa as well as Mr. Budd in Albert Herring. On top of that he will portray in the 2005/06 season Kuno in The Freeshooter, Frank in The Bat and Leopold in The Gipsy Princess.
