Das Trio widmet sich den Ausdrucksfeldern des Moments. Ob sie hoch energetisch, zutiefst melodisch, abstrakt oder liedhaft sind – der morphende Fluss der Improvisation lässt sie immer wieder neue Gipfel erklimmen. Dabei spielt die musikalische Interaktion, der Fokus auf das Gesamtbild und das Erforschen der Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten die wichtigste Rolle für das Trio, welches Anfang 2021 an der Kölner Musikhochschule zusammenfand.
Die Pianistin Emilia Golos, die bereits erfolgreich ihre eigenen Projekte (ua. „Travel Adapter“, „Kinga“) in der improvisierten Musik leitet, erweitert dabei die Klangfarben und Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten ihres Instruments auf kreative Art und Weise.

Ebenso tut es Schlagzeuger Jakob Görris, der unter anderem auch für sein eigenes Projekt „PER SPECT IVE“ komponiert und seine interaktive und spontane Spielweise in Laika einfließen lässt.
Philipp Hayduk, der ua. im Bundesjazzorchester spielt, ergänzt Laika dabei mit dem Sound der Posaune, der sich sowohl melodisch als auch abstrakt in die Improvisationen des Trios einfügt.

The trio is dedicated to the expressive fields of the moment. Whether they are highly energetic, deeply melodic, abstract, or songlike, the morphing flow of improvisation keeps them climbing new peaks. Musical interaction, focus on the big picture, and exploration of creative possibilities play the most important role for the trio, which came together at the Cologne Musikhochschule in early 2021.

The pianist Emilia Golos, who already successfully leads her own projects (among others „Travel Adapter“, „Kinga“) in improvised music, thereby creatively expands the sound colors and expressive possibilities of her instrument.
