Ihr umfangreiches Repertoire umfasst nahezu 50 Opernrollen und Konzertpartien, darunter Amneris / AIDA, Eboli / DON CARLO, die Fürstin von Bouillon / ADRIANA LECOUVREUR, Marguerite / LA DAMNATION DE FAUST, Carmen, Didon / LES TROYENS, Dalila / SAMSON ET DALILA, Venus / TANNHÄUSER, Brangäne / TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, Kundry / PARSIFAL, Polina / PIQUE DAME, Marfa / CHOWANSCHTSCHINA, Ljubascha / DIE ZARENBRAUT und Clara d’Almanza in Prokofjews DIE VERLOBUNG IM KLOSTER sowie die Mezzosopran- bzw. Altpartien in den Requiems von Mozart und Verdi, Beethovens 9. Sinfonie, Mahlers 2. und 8. Sinfonie sowie Berlioz’ ROMÉO ET JULIETTE.
Yulia Matochkina erregte internationale Aufmerksamkeit, als sie 2015 den Tschaikowski-Wettbewerb in Moskau gewann. Sie ist regelmäßig beim Moskauer Osterfestival und beim Festival Sterne der Weißen Nächte in Sankt Petersburg zu Gast und trat beim Edinburgh und beim Verbier Festival sowie bei den BBC Proms in London auf. Gastengagements führten sie außerdem in so renommierte Musikzentren wie die New Yorker Carnegie Hall, das Teatre del Liceu und das Auditori in Barcelona, die Münchner Philharmonie, die Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, das Teatro dell’Opera in Rom, das Bolschoi-Theater in Moskau und das Auditorium Rai in Turin.
Im Rahmen von Gastspielen des Mariinski-Theaters war Yulia Matochkina in Österreich, Finnland, Schweden, Großbritannien, Frankreich, der Schweiz, Italien, Deutschland, Spanien, den USA sowie in Japan und China zu hören.
Yulia Matochkina gab ihr Hausdebüt an der Deutschen Oper Berlin als Carmen am 16. Oktober 2019 und kehrt in der Saison 23/24 als Amneris / AIDA und Ortrud / LOHENGRIN hierher zurück.
