1997 wurde er für den Lawrence Olivier Award für »Outstanding Achievement in Opera« nominiert (TRISTAN UND ISOLDE an der English National Opera und MIDSUMMER MARRIAGE am Royal Opera House Covent Garden). Seine Produktionen von PAUL BUNYAN und TRISTAN UND ISOLDE wurden mit dem Olivier Award als »beste Produktionen« geehrt, andere Auszeichnungen folgten. Neben seinen Engagements und Projekten unterrichtete er an der Bayrischen Theaterakademie August Everding.
