Voxi Bärenklau, geboren 1960, arbeitet seit 1987 als Kameramann in der Kino- und TV-Produktion u.a. für Regisseure wie Helge Schneider, Christoph Schlingensief oder Adolf Winkelmann und seit 2002 auch als Licht- und Videodesigner für Theater- und Opernproduktionen. Er selbst bezeichnet seine künstlerische Arbeit für Schlingensiefs Parsifal am Festspielhaus Bayreuth als sein bisher wichtigstes Werk. 1999 arbeitet er als »Gaffer« mit Michael und Florian Ballhaus für Scorseses »Gangs of New York«. Seit 2016 Zusammenarbeit mit Kay Voges, dem Intendanten des Theater Dortmund bei mehreren Produktionen, u.a. bei der »Borderline Prozession«, die 2017 zum Theatertreffen eingeladen wurde und für die Oper »Der Freischütz« und »Aida« an der Staatsoper Hannover. Für den gemeinsam mit Richard Lehun produzierten Kurzfilm »Fetisch« erhielt er 2002 den deutschen Kurzfilmpreis in Gold. Zuletzt arbeitete Voxi Bärenklau als Zeitzeuge und Kameramann am Dokumentarfilm »Wunder der Wirklichkeit« von Thomas Frickel, der im Oktober 2017 den hessischen Filmpreis gewann.
Am Deutschen SchauSpielHaus wirkte er bei Karin Beiers Inszenierung von »Reich des Todes« und Kay Voges Inszenierung »Die Stadt der Blinden« mit.
