Thomas Douglas wurde in Sambia geboren und wuchs dort, im Iran und in München auf. Thomas Douglas wurde in Sambia geboren und wuchs dort, im Iran und in München auf. Seine Ausbildung zum Schauspieler absolvierte er 1995-1999 an der Hochschule für Musik in Theater in Hamburg, bereits verbunden mit verschiedenen Gastrollen am Thalia Theater, am Deutschen Schauspielhaus, an den Hamburger Kammerspielen und auf Kampnagel. 1999-2001 war er unter der Leitung von C. Dünsser und O.Kukla am Theater Neumarkt in Zürich. Von dort wechselte er ins Theater Basel unter der Leitung von Stefan Bachmann und Lars Ole Walburg. Dort arbeitete er u. a. mit Ruedi Häusermann, Sebastian Nübling, Raphael Sanchez, Barbara Frey und Anna Sophie Mahler. Seit 2005 ist er freischaffend, u. a. am Schauspielhaus Zürich, am Staatstheater Hannover, am Theater Freiburg, an der Staatsoper Stuttgart, am Schauspiel Frankfurt, am Luzerner Theater, Theater Neumarkt, am Theater Basel und am Hebbel am Ufer Theater in Berlin. Von 2006 bis 2012 war Thomas Douglas zusammen mit Anna Sophie Mahler Teil der freien Theatergruppe „CapriConnection“ in Basel.
Zudem in Fernseh- und Filmproduktionen. Die viel beachtete Kino- Produktion „Zu Zweit“ mit Thomas Douglas in der Hauptrolle gewann 2010 den Zürcher Filmpreis (Regie: Barbara Kulcsar). Im kommenden Jahr wird er in der Netflix Miniserie „Terra Vision“ zu sehen sein.
