Tadeusz Szlenkier studierte zunächst Philosophie in seiner Heimatstadt Warschau bevor er zum Gesangsstudium an die Yale Universität in die USA ging. Der erste Preis beim International Gesangswettbewerb Klassik Mania in Wien 2005 gab den Startschuss für seine Bühnenkarriere, die der Tenor in Polen begann.
So war er u. a. an der Oper Krakau als Alfred / DIE FLEDERMAUS zu hören, an der Nationaloper in Warschau als Pinkerton / MADAMA BUTTERFLY oder an der Baltischen Oper in Danzig als Turridu / CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA. Bei der amerikanischen Erstaufführung von Szymanowskis KROL ROGER interpretierte er die Partie des Hirten, übernahm 2012 die Titelrolle in Mozarts IDOMENEO am Teatro Municipal in Lima und gastierte als Rodolfo / LA BOHÈME an der Niederländischen Reisopera. Zu seinem weiteren Repertoire gehören Partien wie Alfredo / LA TRAVIATA, Prinz / RUSALKA, Gustav / UN BALLO IN MASCHERA, Leicester / MARIA STUARDA oder Jontek in Stanislaw Moniuszkos Oper HALKA. Auch im Konzertbereich ist Tadeusz Szlenkier ein gefragter Gast, u. a. mit den Tenorparts in Verdis Requiem, in Beethovens 9. Symphonie oder im Requiem von Mozart.
In jüngster Zeit sang er u. a. Ctirad in Leoš Janácek ŠÁRKA am Nationaltheater in Prag, Mario Cavaradossi / TOSCA an der chilenischen Nationaloper und am Opernhaus von Krakau, Turridu / CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA und Canio / PAGLIACCI in Toulon, Parsifal am Staatstheater Nürnberg, Alfredo / LA TRAVIATA an der polnischen Nationaloper sowie Silvanus Schuller in Pendereckis DIE SCHWARZE MASKE mit dem Nationalen polnischen Radio-Sinfonieorchester. Darüber hinaus führten in Konzertengagements zur Philharmonie von Krakau und zur Pommerschen Philharmonie in Bydgoszcz. Er sang Manrico / IL TROVATORE und Italienischer Sänger / DER ROSENKAVALIER am Staatstheater Nürnberg, die Titelpartie in DON CARLO am Opernhaus von Bern, Hirt in Szymanowskis KROL ROGER während des Bard Summer Festival, Rodolfo an der Nederlandse Reisopera, Cavaradossi / TOSCA am Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, an der polnischen Nationaloper Warschau und am Opernhaus von Wroclaw.
