Seither hat Aarfing nicht nur zahlreiche Bühnenbilder für Schauspiel und Oper entworfen, sondern auch Filmsets gestaltet und als Theaterarchitekt gearbeitet. Für Kasper Holten hat er zahlreiche Produktionen ausgestattet, u. a. in Stockholm, in Reykjavik, in Kopenhagen, Wien und San Francisco. Auch beim berühmten Kopenhagener RING DES NIBELUNGEN war er der Holtens Bühnenbildner. Ihre Zusammenarbeit führte die beiden kürzlich nach Budapest, wo Aarfing das Filmset für Holtens Juan kreierte. Wagners LOHENGRIN brachten die beiden zuletzt 2008 in Moskau auf die Bühne. Aktuelle und zukünftige Produktionen führen Aarfing nach Helsingborg, Gothenborg, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Bergen, Stockholm und Oslo.
