Die vielfach ausgezeichnete saarländische Sopranistin Sonja Gornik absolvierte ihre Gesangsausbildung in Mainz und Graz. Nach ihrem Festengagement am Theater Lüneburg von 2010-2013 wurde sie am Landestheater Linz engagiert. Große Erfolge feierte sie an beiden Häusern als Tosca, Madame Butterfly und Leonore sowie als Sieglinde, Freia, und Gutrune in Wagners »Der Ring des Nibelungen«. Gastengagements führten sie an das GranTeatre del Liceu Barcelona, das Teatro Real Madrid und das Staatstheater Wiesbaden, wo sie ihr Wagner Repertoire um die Partien der Isabella (»Liebesverbot«) und Brünnhilde erweiterte. Nach ihrer Babypause kehrte Sonja Gornik 2019 am Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern (Irene in Wagners »Rienzi«) und am Theater Aachen als Brünnhilde im Wagner-Fach auf die Bühne zurück.
