Nach Abschluss seiner Ausbildung mit Auszeichnung arbeitete er mehrere Jahre als Fotograf unter Anderem in Engagements für Elfi Semotan, Nick Knight und Miles Aldrige. Seit 2011 ist Severin Renke international als freier filmschaffender Künstler tätig. Er ist Mitglied im Dachverband freie darstellende Künste (DfdK). Am SchauSpielHaus war er an den Produktionen »Der haarige Affe«, Regie: Frank Castorf und »Die Stadt der Blinden«, Regie: Kay Voges, beteiligt. In der Spielzeit 20-21 arbeitet er gemeinsam mit Karin Beier an »Lärm. Blindes Sehen. Blinde Sehen« von Elfriede Jelinek. In der Spielzeit 2021-22 arbeitet er mit Frank Castorf an »Der Geheimagent« von Joseph Conrad.
