Geboren in Bonn, studierte Riccarda Russo Theater, Film- und Medienwissenschaft sowie Publizistik– und Kommunikationswissenschaft an der Universität Wien. Während des Studiums war sie in freien Theaterkollektiven aktiv. Ihre erste Regiearbeit die Stückentwicklung „Empfang der Ehrengäste“ wurde 2016 im Ateliertheater Wien uraufgeführt und zum internationalen Studententheaterfestival Drehbühne in Brno/ Tschechien eingeladen.
Nach dem Studium absolvierte sie ein viermonatiges Redaktionspraktikum bei der Kölner Dokumentarfilmproduktionsfirma BROADVIEW TV. Es folgten Assistenzen beim internationalen Kinofilm, darunter „Fast and Furious 8“, „Transformers 5“ und „Captain America: Civil War“ und der Sky-Miniserie „8 Tage“ in den Bereichen Regie, Kamera und Produktion.
In der Spielzeit 2018-19 war Riccarda als freie Regieassistentin am Theater Bonn, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus und Jungen Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus tätig. Seit der Spielzeit 2019/20 ist sie als Regieassistentin am Jungen SchauSpielHaus Hamburg engagiert, wo sie seither für alle Trailer und Videos künstlerisch verantwortlich ist.
