Davor war er über 30 Jahre lang Moderator, Autor und Reporter für verschiedene Sender des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks in Deutschland. Ein Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit ist die Ausbildung junger Journalistinnen und Journalisten und hier wiederum Moderation und Präsentation. Privat hört er alle Arten von Musik, ganz besonders Jazz.
