Pierre Azzuro wurde in Marseille, Frankreich geboren und erhielt seinen ersten Hornunterricht mit sieben Jahren. Zu seinen Lehrern in Montpellier und Paris gehörten Eric Sombret und Hervé Joulain. 2006 ist Pierre nach Deutschland gekommen, um Unterricht bei Prof. Wolfgang Gaag in München zu nehmen. Seine Orchestererfahrungen sammelte Pierre Azzuro bereits in mehreren Orchestern (Berliner Philharmoniker, Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester u. a.) und spielte unter der Leitung von Dirigenten wie Bernard Haitink, Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Franz Welser-Möst, Andris Nelsons und Antonio Pappano. ?
Pierre Azzuro war Stipendiat der Gustav-Mahler-Akademie in Ferrara, Italien und der Stiftung „Villa Musica” Rheinland-Pfalz und besuchte Meisterkurse bei Hugh Seanan, Frøydis Ree Wekre und Christian Dallmann.
Von 2010 bis 2015 war Pierre Azzuro Mitglied der Stuttgarter Philharmoniker.
Er gewann 2014 mit dem Quintett BlechMaschine den 2. Preis beim Internationalen Wettbewerb für Blechbläser-Ensembles in Passau.
Seit 2015 ist Pierre Azzuro 1. Solo-Hornist der Deutschen Oper Berlin und seit 2022 Mitglied des Bayreuther Festspielorchesters.
