Jüngst gab Noel Bouley sein britisches Operndebüt als Scarpia in der Neuproduktion von TOSCA an der English National Opera unter der Regie von Christof Loy, eine Rolle, die er sich auf den Bühnen in München, Dortmund und in ganz Deutschland zu eigen gemacht hat.
Bouley baute sein Repertoire als Mitglied des Ensembles der Deutschen Oper Berlin auf, wo er unter anderem als Amonasro / AIDA und Sharpless / MADAMA BUTTERFLY zu hören war. In jüngster Zeit hat er begonnen, sich mit großem Erfolg den dramatischen Wagner-Rollen zu widmen, darunter Donner / DAS RHEINGOLD, Bietrolf / TANNHÄUSER, Der fliegende Holländer, Amfortas / PARSIFAL sowie Wotan / DAS RHEINGOLD.
In dieser Saison debütiert er als Wanderer in Peter Konwitschnys Neuinszenierung von SIEGFRIED und singt Klingsor / PARSIFAL in einem Konzert mit Pablo Heras-Casado und dem Orquesta de Extremadura. In anderen Konzerten präsentiert er Vaughan Williams' „Sea Symphony“ unter Felix Bender am Theater Ulm. Jüngst gab Noel Bouley sein mit Spannung erwartetes Debüt als Wotan in Peter Konwitschnys Neuinszenierung von DIE WALKÜRE am Theater Dortmund und kehrte als Germont in LA TRAVIATA ans Theater Basel zurück, eine Rolle, die er erstmals beim Glyndebourne Festival unter Christoph Altstaedt gesungen hat. Andernorts war er als Hohepriester / SAMSON ET DALILA an der Washington National Opera, als Ford / FALSTAFF an der Oper Köln, in der Titelrolle in DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER an der Oper Leipzig und der Opera San José, als Wotan in DAS RHEINGOLD und in der Titelrolle in RIGOLETTO am Theater Chemnitz zu hören und trat in der gekürzten Fassung des „Ring an einem Abend“ an der Oper Leipzig sowie in Konzerten in der Philharmonie am Gasteig in München und in der Liederhalle Stuttgart auf.
Als engagierter Konzertinterpret hat Bouley Brahms‘ „Ein deutsches Requiem“, Orffs „Carmina Burana“, Beethovens Sinfonie Nr. 9, Vaughan Williams „Five Mystical Songs“, Strawinskys „Pulcinella“, Händels „Messias“ und Bachs h-Moll-Messe aufgeführt und ist in letzter Zeit mit den Symphonikern Hamburg, dem Dallas Symphony Orchestra, dem Aspen Festival Orchestra, dem Bravo! Vail Music Festival und dem Lexington Philharmonic aufgetreten.
Bouley war Finalist beim Eleanor McCollum Wettbewerb der Houston Grand Opera und beim Gesangswettbewerb der Dallas Opera Guild. Er stammt aus Houston, Texas.
