Es folgen Engagements an der Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, am Deutschen Theater Berlin, an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden, am Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Residenztheater in München, an der Volksbühne Berlin und am Burgtheater in Wien. Zusammenarbeit u. a. mit Nicolas Brieger, Isabel Ostermann, Ulrike Arnold, Tina Lanik, Ulrich Rasche, Jan Philipp Gloger, Christian Grashof, Jim Rakete, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson und Martin Kušej. Nils Strunk ist außerdem Musiker und Komponist für Bühnen- und Filmmusik. Er ist Teil vom Neuen Künstlertheater Berlin.
Am Schauspiel Hannover ist er in der Spielzeit 2020/21 verantwortlich für die Musik in Dance Nation in der Regie von Stephan Kimmig.
