Nic Raine wurde in London geboren und studierte Orgel, Klavier, Kontrabass und Gitarre. Als Arrangeur wirkte er an zahlreichen Filmmusik-Partituren mit u.a. zusammen mit Elmer Bernstein, Howard Blake und Hans Zimmer. In seiner über 20-jährigen Zusammenarbeit mit John Barry entstand u.a. die Filmmusik für zwei James Bond-Filme. Als Komponist schrieb er u.a. die Musik für den Kurzfilm »Bath time« mit Alan Cumming, das Musical »Der Schwanenprinz« sowie zuletzt die Musik für das Historiendrama »Effigie, das Gift und die Stadt«. Für seine Filmmusik für Udo Jürgens Film »Der Mann mit dem Fagott« wurde er mit dem Deut schen Fernsehpreis ausgezeichnet. Als mehrfach ausgezeichneter Dirigent war er weltweit bei renommierten Orchestern zu Gast und wirkte bei über 100 Einspielungen von Filmmusiken mit. 2010 gründete er in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Sender Klassik Radio das Klassik Radio Pops Orchestra. Seine »The Sound of Hollywood«-Konzertreihe führte ihn bis nach Taiwan und Bogotá.
