Lisa Maline Busse, 1976 in Dannenberg geboren, studierte zunächst Philosophie, bevor sie von 1999 bis 2006 ein Bühnen- und Kostümbildstudium an der Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee absolvierte.
Nach ihrem Diplom war sie Meisterschülerin für Bühnenbild/Malerei bei Prof. Peter Schubert und Prof. Werner Liebmann an der Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee. 2007 wurde sie Ausstattungsassistentin am Opernhaus Magdeburg. Von August 2009 bis Oktober 2011 arbeitete sie als Ausstattungsassistentin am Oldenburgischen Staatstheater. Bei Anna Bergmanns Inszenierung von BREAKING THE WAVES war sie mit verantwortlich für das Bühnenbild. Außerdem war sie Ausstatterin bei den Produktionen ERWIN UND FROSCH und bei ZU ZWEIT BIN ICH EINE KATASTROPHE in der Regie von Thom Luz. In der Spielzeit 2011/2012 entwarf Lisa Busse die Bühne für die Oper FRÄULEIN JULIE (Regie William Robertson) und die Kostüme für die Koproduktion zwischen der andcompany&Co., dem Oldenburgischen Staatstheater und dem Frascati Amsterdam DER (KOMMENDE) AUFSTAND nach Schiller, die u. a. bei Impulse und dem Kunstenfestival Brüssel zu sehen war.
Ferner stattete sie 2012 in Braunschweig Brittens DER KLEINE SCHORNSTEINFEGER aus, entwarf das Bühnenbild für DEN TEUFEL MIT DEN 3 GOLDENEN HAAREN am Anhaltischen Theater in Dessau und war für die Ausstattung der Komödie DER VORNAME am Jungen Theater Göttingen verantwortlich. Bei den Ruhrfestspielen in Recklinghausen stattete sie 2013 die Produktion ARCHIV DES UNVOLLSTÄNDIGEN.
