Lili Avar, geboren 1993 in Berlin, absolvierte nach ihrem Abitur 2012 ein halbjähriges Praktikum an der Deutschen Oper Berlin. Für den Bühnenbildner Robert Pflanz assistierte sie anschließend am Bellas Artes in Mexico City. 2013 begann sie ihr Kostüm- und Bühnenbildstudium an der Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee sowie an der Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerpen.

Seit 2014 wirkt sie als Kostümbildnerin an Produktionen der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Potsdam, der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler und der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg mit.
Durch eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit Filmproduzentin Britta Strampe entstand der preisgekrönte Dokumentarfilm „Tracing Addai“. Seit dieser Spielzeit ist sie als Bühnenbildassistentin an der Deutschen Oper Berlin tätig.
