Katrin Wittig stammt aus Berlin und studierte dort bei Peter Schubert sowie in Dresden Bühnen- und Kostümbild. Erste Arbeiten führten sie mit Susanne Münzner an die Berliner Volksbühne (Majakowskis „Mysterium buffo“, Regie: Sebastian Hartmann).
Eine enge Zusammenarbeit verbindet sie mit dem Regisseur Sebastian Schug, für dessen Inszenierung von Lorcas „Sobald fünf Jahre vergehen�...
Katrin Wittig stammt aus Berlin und studierte dort bei Peter Schubert sowie in Dresden Bühnen- und Kostümbild. Erste Arbeiten führten sie mit Susanne Münzner an die Berliner Volksbühne (Majakowskis „Mysterium buffo“, Regie: Sebastian Hartmann).
Eine enge Zusammenarbeit verbindet sie mit dem Regisseur Sebastian Schug, für dessen Inszenierung von Lorcas „Sobald fünf Jahre vergehen“ am Berliner bat-Studio sie die Bühne entwarf – eine Produktion, die mit dem Regienachwuchspreis der Deutschen Akademie der Darstellenden Künste ausgezeichnet wurde. Weitere Arbeiten mit Schug waren Goethes „Die Leiden des jungen Werther“ und Hölderlins „Antigone“ am Staatstheater Kassel sowie Thornton Wilders „Wir sind noch einmal davongekommen“ am Staatsschauspiel Dresden und Godards „Außer Atem“ in den Berliner sophiensaelen.
Mit dem Regisseur Benedikt von Peter realisierte sie bereits Hans Zenders CHIEF JOSEPH am Stadttheater Heidelberg, Händels THESEUS und Beethovens FIDELIO an der Komischen Oper Berlin, PARSIFAL am Theater Basel, INTOLLERANZA 1960 an der Staatsoper Hannover sowie AUFSTIEG UND FALL DER STADT MAHAGONNY, LA TRAVIATA und LA BOHÈME am Theater Bremen.
