Seit 2002 ist Kate Strong freischaffende Schauspielerin und hat mit zahlreichen Regisseuren, Choreographen und Komponisten gearbeitet. Eine enge Zusammenarbeit verbindet sie mit der Regisseurin Karin Henkel. Mit Ersan Mondtags Inszenierung »Tyrannis« war sie 2016 zum Berliner Theatertreffen eingeladen.
Am Deutschen SchauSpielHaus spielte Kate Strong in Karin Henkels Inszenierungen »Die Ratten« und »John Gabriel Borkman«, die ebenfalls beide beim Berliner Theatertreffen gastierten. In der Inszenierung »Richard the Kid« von Karin Henkel ist sie in der Spielzeit 2020-21 zu sehen.
