Schon vor Beginn seines Studiums war er Mitglied beim Jungen Theater Basel und in der Produktion „Punk Rock“ (Regie: Sebastian Nübling) zu sehen. Ab 2014 spielte er u. a. am Theater Basel, am Luzerner Theater, in „Sturm in Patumbah“ (Regie: Niklaus Helbling) im Rahmen der Zürcher Festspiele und in „Ghost of Chance” (Regie: Mirko Borscht) beim Theaterfestival AUAWIRLEBEN. 2016 übernahm er am Schauspielhaus Zürich die Rolle des Felix Glückskind im Weihnachtsmärchen „Der Teufel mit den drei goldenen Haaren”. Julian Anatol Schneider ist zudem Förderpreisträger der Friedl-Wald Stiftung. Ab der Spielzeit 2017/18 ist er festes Ensemblemitglied am Moks.
