Henry Meyer wurde in Dresden geboren und wuchs in Radebeul auf. Nach dem Abitur arbeitete er zunächst für ein Jahr als Techniker an der Landesbühne Sachsen in Radebeul, bevor der von 1984-88 an der Filmhochschule „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam Babelsberg Schauspiel studierte. Nach dem Abitur arbeitete er zunächst für ein Jahr als Techniker an der Landesbühne Sachsen in Radebeul, bevor der von 1984-88 an der Filmhochschule „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam Babelsberg Schauspiel studierte. Ab 1988 stand er auf diversen Bühnen, u.a. Theater Neustrelitz, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Theater am Kirchplatz in Liechtenstein, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Marstall München, Schauspielhaus Wien, Volkstheater Wien, Theater Mannheim, Staatstheater Dresden, Schauspiel Frankfurt und Theater Luzern. Von 2008 bis 2017 war er unter der Intendanz von Peter Carp am Theater Oberhausen engagiert. Er arbeitete u. a. mit Michael Thalheimer, Jürgen Kruse, Andrij Zholdak, Anton Rechi, Herbert Fritsch, Simon Stone, Lily Sykes, Amir Reza Koohestani sowie in div. Produktionen von Peter Carp. Neben seiner Bühnentätigkeit wirkte er in diversen Kino- und Fernsehproduktionen mit, u. a. im TATORT und im Kinofilm PLAN B - SCHEISS AUF PLAN A. In Wien erhielt er für den Joe in ANGELS IN AMERICA die Kainzmedaille. Seit der Spielzeit 2017/2018 ist er am Theater Freiburg engagiert.
