Hans-Georg Wimmer studierte Gesang in Köln und Berlin. Er war Mitglied der Berliner Kammeroper und konzertierte u.a. mit Concerto Köln, dem Freiburger Barockorchester und der Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Nach seinem erfolgreichen Fachwechsel zum Heldentenor debütierte er 2012 mit Auszügen aus »Tristan und Isolde« am Nationaltheater Rijeka und als Siegmund in »Die Walküre« beim Int. Musikfestival Dubrovnik. Sein gefeiertes Debüt als Tristan gab er 2016 am Landestheater Niederbayern sowie 2017 am Teatro Verdi in Trieste. Weitere Engagements führten ihn u.a. an die Opernhäuser Zürich und Kopenhagen. Wimmer gastierte bei den wichtigsten Festivals für Alte Musik und ist auf zahlreichen
CD- und Rundfunkaufnahmen zu hören. Konzertreisen führten ihn durch ganz Europa, die USA, Australien und Neuseeland.
