About me
Frank Wentzel (2. Tenor) ist seit seinem elften Lebensjahr – mit dem Eintritt in den Staats- und Domchor Berlin – mit dem Chorgesang eng verbunden. Parallel zu seiner Handwerksausbildung zum Feinoptiker begann er sein privates Gesangsstudium anfänglich bei A. Sommer und setzte es später bei Prof. R. Gsell und Prof. P. Maus fort. Bei den internationalen Opernkursen der „Jeunesse Musicales�...
Frank Wentzel (2. Tenor) ist seit seinem elften Lebensjahr – mit dem Eintritt in den Staats- und Domchor Berlin – mit dem Chorgesang eng verbunden. Parallel zu seiner Handwerksausbildung zum Feinoptiker begann er sein privates Gesangsstudium anfänglich bei A. Sommer und setzte es später bei Prof. R. Gsell und Prof. P. Maus fort. Bei den internationalen Opernkursen der „Jeunesse Musicales“ auf Schloss Weikersheim und später im Extrachor der Deutschen Oper Berlin sammelte er erste Bühnenerfahrungen.
Sein erstes festes Engagement führte ihn an das Theater der Stadt Trier, wo er neben seiner Chorverpflichtung solistische Aufgaben wie Giuseppe / LA TRAVIATA, Junker Spärlich / LUSTIGE WEIBER VON WINDSOR, Don Curzio / DIE HOCHZEIT DES FIGARO, Eddie / ROCKY HORROR SHOW und Baby-John / WEST SIDE STORY und andere Partien übernahm. Gleichzeitig führte er sein privates Studium bei Karin Clarke (NY) weiterführte.
Seit 1999 ist Frank Wentzel im 2. Tenor des Chores der Deutschen Oper beschäftigt. Solistische Aufgaben übernahm er in den Opern DER BAJAZZO (ein Bauer) und AUS EINEM TOTENHAUS (der kleine Sträfling).
