Geboren 1984 in Berlin. Nach dem Abitur 2004 reiste er durch Argentinien und Peru und arbeitete danach als Jugend-Referent für Amnesty International in Berlin. In dieser Zeit hatte er mit seiner Punk Rock Band »Indigo« diverse Live-Auftritte. Studierte von 2006 bis 2010 an der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen – Konrad Wolf in Potsdam. Während des Studiums arbeitete er mit den Regisseuren Andreas Kleinert, Lukas Langhoff, Gustav Rueb und Tim Tonndorf (Prinzip Gonzo) zusammen und hatte u.a. Engagements am Hans Otto Theater Potsdam und am Hebbel Theater Berlin. 2009 verkörperte Florens Schmidt die Rolle des Frankie in »Lügengespinst«. Diese Produktion wurde mit dem Ensemblepreis auf dem Schauspielschultreffen in Zürich ausgezeichnet. In dem Kinofilm »Krankheit der Jugend« (Regie: Dieter Berner), der im Rahmen der Hofer Filmtage 2010 uraufgeführt und später bei Arte ausgestrahlt wurde, spielte er eine der männlichen Hauptrollen. Zudem wirkte er in verschiedenen Hörspielproduktionen auf Deutschlandradio Kultur mit. Seit der Spielzeit 2011/2012 gehört Florens Schmidt zum Ensemble des Jungen Schauspielhauses. In der Spielzeit 2012/2013 ist er zu sehen in: »Die Gerechten« von Albert Camus (Regie: Alexander Riemenschneider), »Alice im Wunderland« nach Lewis Carroll (Regie: Barbara Bürk), »Verbrennungen« von Wajdi Mouawad (Regie: Konradin Kunze), »Nur ein Tag« von Martin Baltscheid (Regie: Gertrud Pigor), »Haram/Desaparecidos« von Ad de Bont, »Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten« von Andreas Steinhöfel, »Wut« von Max Eipp, »Elektra« von Nino Haratischwili (Regie: alle Klaus Schumacher), »Hacking Luleå« (Regie: Konradin Kunze) und in »Nathan« zu sehen.
