Der irisch-amerikanische Bariton Emmett O’Hanlon studierte an der Juilliard School in New York, am College-Conservatory of Music der University of Cincinnati und nahm am Bel Canto Young Artist Programm der Caramoor Opera teil, an La Musica Lirica im italienischen Novafeltria sowie an dem von der Edmond de Rothschild Foundation unterstützten „Julliard in Paris“-Projekt. Er gewann die Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition 2018, war Finalist des Operalia Wettbewerbs 2017, der South Regional Finals der MET Opera National Council Auditions und erhielt Preise der Verismo Opera Competition, der Gerda Lissner Foundation sowie des Opera Index Wettbewerbs. Es folgten Engagements als Malatesta (Donizetti „Don Pasquale“) beim Blackwater Valley Opera Festival und Berkshire Opera Festival, Silvio (Leoncavallo „Pagliacci“) an der Opera San José, Maximilian (Bernstein „Candide“) und in Brittens „Billy Budd“ an der Des Moines Metro Opera sowie als 2. Priester (Mozart „Die Zauberflöte“), Wagner (Gounod „Faust“) und Dancaïre (Bizet „Carmen“) an der Lyric Opera Chicago. Mit der Gruppe Celtic Thunder war er auf Tourneen zu erleben und brachte CDs und DVDs heraus. Seit 2019/20 ist Emmett O’Hanlon Mitglied des Ensembles der Deutschen Oper am Rhein. Hier ist er 2021/22 erneut als Partie Overall (Ullmann „Der Kaiser von Atlantis“) und Figaro (Rossini „Il barbiere di Siviglia“), sowie als Graf Almaviva (Mozart „Le nozze di Figaro“) und Silvio (Leoncavallo „Paggliaci“) zu hören sein.
