Elena Pierini, geb. in Florenz, erwarb an den Konservatorien in Florenz und Perugia Diplome für Klavier und Schlagzeug und arbeitete mit Dirigenten wie Zubin Mehta, Seiji Osawa und Giuseppe Sinopoli zusammen. An der Florida International University Miami schloss sie 2002 ein Masterstudium als Dirigentin ab. Mehrere Jahre arbeitete sie als Dirigentin, Chorleiterin bzw. Korrepetitorin u. a. an der Sarasota Opera, der Florida Grand Opera, der Kent State University (Ohio) und beim Harlem Boys Choir (New York). 2006/2007 dirigierte sie mehrfach an der Oper Burgas (Bulgarien). 2008 wurde sie Repetitorin an den Städtischen Bühnen Münster, 2009/2010 war sie Assistentin des Chordirektors am Aalto Theater Essen und leitete den Aalto Kinderchor. Hier hatte sie die Möglichkeit die Aufführung und die Aufnahme der Hymne für die Kulturhauptstadt Europas gemeinsam mit Herbert Grönemeyer aufzuführen. Von der Spielzeit 2010/ 2011 bis Januar 2015 war sie Chordirektorin und Kapellmeisterin am Theater Nordhausen. 2013 war sie zweimal an Konservatorium für Musik in Bejing eingeladen. Dort war sie für die Einstudierung der Oper »Aida« verantwortlich sowohl für die Solisten als auch für die Chöre. 2014 war sie in Italien und hat am Teatro Comunale di Firenze die Kinderoper »Brundibar« dirigiert. Seit Beginn des Jahres 2015 ist Elena Pierini Chordirektorin und Kapellmeisterin am Theater Aachen.
