Dorothee Curio, geboren in Berlin, studierte Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin und an der University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Dorothee Curio, geboren in Berlin, studierte Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin und an der University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Seit 2000 arbeitet sie als freischaffende Bühnen- und Kostümbildnerin für verschiedene Produktionen u. a. an den Münchner Kammerspielen, Volksbühne Berlin, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspielhaus Bochum, NT Gent, Opéra National de Paris, Ruhrtriennale, Veenfabriek Leiden, Centro Dramático Nacional Madrid. In dieser Zeit arbeitete sie mit verschiedenen Regisseur:innen zusammen, u. a. mit Jan Neumann, Christoph Marthaler, Anna Viebrock, Jossi Wieler, Johan Simons, Paul Koek, Gianina Carbunariu, Sarah Moeremans und Christiane Pohle. Im Jahr 2013 erhielt sie den Hein-Heckroth-Förderpreis für Bühnenbild. Im Jahr 2014 war sie Stipendiatin in der Künstlerresidenz des Goethe-Instituts Kyoto. In der Spielzeit 23/24 verantwortete Dorothee Curio die Bühne und Kostüme bei Christiane Pohles Inszenierung von „Sonne / Luft“.
