Davor Vincze wurde 1983 in Zagreb geboren. Nach seinem Kompositionsstudium in Graz und Stuttgart spezialisierte sich Davor Vincze auf Elektronische Musik an der IRCAM und promovierte schließlich an der Stanford University. Seine Kompositionen wurden von renommierten internationalen Musiker:innen wie dem Ensemble Modern, Mosaik und Intercontemporain, Decoder, Klangforum Wien, Talea und Slagwerk den Haag, JACK Quartet, Secession und dem No Borders Orchestra u. a. bei Festivals wie Présences, Impuls, MATA, Manifeste, Darmstadter Ferienkurse u. a. aufgeführt. Im Jahr 2023 absolvierte er eine Künstlerresidenz an der Emory University in Atlanta. Im Jahr 2014 gründete Vincze das internationale Festival für zeitgenössische Musik Novalis. Seit 2023 ist er Co-Direktor der Music Biennale Zagreb. Seine Werke werden von Maison ONA in Paris veröffentlicht. Vincze gewann den Alain-Louvier-Preis, den Preis beim Kompositionswettbewerb in Stuttgart und den 2. Preis beim Pre-Art-Kompositionswettbewerb des Impuls-Festivals und erhielt zahlreiche Stipendien. 20/21 gewann er den Boris Papandopulo Award für den besten kroatischen Komponisten zeitgenössischer Musik, den Europäischen Orchester-Wettbewerb für zeitgenössische Komposition und wurde beim Internationalen Wettbewerb Città di Udine (Italien) für das beste audiovisuelle Werk ausgezeichnet. Er war Preisträger des Wettbewerbs „New Music, New Paths“ in Hongkong und wurde für einen künstlerischen Aufenthalt am Institut für Elektronische Musik in Graz (2021) sowie beim SWR Experimentalstudio (2022) und am Grame Lyon (2023) ausgewählt. Die NOperas!-Arbeit „Freedom Collective“ wird er im Rahmen seiner Postdoc-Forschung, die er 2024 an der Hong Kong Baptist University begann, weiterentwickeln.
