Dan Potra arbeitete mit Ensembles wie der Opera Australia und der Sydney Theatre Company zusammen und entwarf für die Eröffnungsfeiern der Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games und der Olympischen Spiele in Sydney 2000.
Dan Porta fertigte weltweit Arbeiten für Theater, Oper, Film, Fernsehen und Großveranstaltungen, vor allem in den USA, Europa, im mittleren Osten, Asien und Russland.
Seine Arbeiten in Großbritannien beinhalten »The Gathering« (Edinburgh Castle), »L’incoronazione di Poppea« für die Garsington Opera, »Samson et Dalila« für das Buxton Festival, »Sweeney Todd« an der Royal Festival Hall, »As you like it«, »Merrily we roll along«, »The importance of being earnest« und »Moon Landing« am Derby Playhouse sowie die Eröffnungsfeier und die » Portrait of a Nation«-Veranstaltung für Liverpool 2008.
