Caio de Azevedo, geboren 1993 in Salvador, Brasilien, ist Komponist. Als Mitglied der NEOJIBA (State Centers for the Youth and Children Orchestras of Bahia) war er als Cellist und Komponist tätig. Dort studierte er Dirigieren bei Eduardo Torres und war stellvertretender Leiter des Jugendchores von Bahia (2011-2012). 2011 besuchte er in Bogotá mit Maria Guinand und Alberto Grau eine Meisterklasse zum Thema Chorleitung. Er studierte Cello bei Prof. Suzana Kato und Komposition bei Prof. Paulo Costa Lima an der Universidade Federal da Bahia, zudem hat er ein Masterstudium in Musical Creation-Interpretation abgeschlossen. Zurzeit studiert er im Masterstudiengang Komposition bei Prof. Moritz Eggert an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Als Cellist trat er mit dem Young Orchestra of Bahia mit wichtigen Solist*innen wie Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, Maxim Vengerov, Midori, Shlomo Mintz in den USA, in Europa und Brasilien auf. De Azevedos Kompositionen wurden vom Mivos Quartet (USA), dem International Contemporary Ensemble (USA), Camará Ensemble (BR), Quarteto Radamés Gnattali (BR) und dem Oktopus Ensemble (DE) aufgeführt. Für die Arbeiten „Lenz“ und „Nach den Fakten kommt das Nichts“ der Regisseurin Maike Bouschen komponierte er die Musik. Zudem wurden zwei seiner Werke zum Abschluss der Reflective Conservatoire Conference in London aufgeführt. In der Saison 2021/22 zeichnet er an der Deutschen Oper am Rhein für die Komposition von „Glas“ verantwortlich.
