2000 wurde ihre Arbeit mit dem Dutch Lucas Hoving Prize ausgezeichnet. Einladung zu zahlreichen Festivals, u. a. mit »Nothing hurts« (Text und Co-Regie: Falk Richter) zum Springdance Festival in Utrecht (1999) sowie zum Theatertreffen in Berlin (2000). Mit ihrer Choreographie »STAU« (2004) tourte sie u. a. durch Spanien, Tschechien, Japan, China, USA und wurde 2006 zum Adelaide Festival in Australien eingeladen. Ihre Produktionen »TRUST«, »Mensch«, »Deseo« und »PROTECT ME« waren u. a. in Montreal, Perth, Avignon, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Groningen, Rennes und Athen zu sehen.
Van Dijk hat ebenfalls ihr ganz eigenes Bewegungssystem, die Countertechnique, entwickelt. Sie wendet es in ihren eigenen Arbeiten an und lehrt international in verschiedenen namhaften Kompanien und Tanzhochschulen. Die Countertechnique wendet sich gegen die im Tanz überwiegende Meinung, dass jede Bewegung vom Körperzentrum ausgeht. Stattdessen hält ein Tänzer in der Countertechnique die Körperbalance, indem er zu jeder Bewegung eine gegenläufige ausführt. So entsteht eine dynamische Balance, die z. B. extreme Richtungsänderungen und sehr weite Bewegungen erlaubt.
Im Juni 2012 wird van Dijk künstlerische Leiterin und Intendantin des Chunky Move in Melbourne, Australien.
