Sie war fast ein Jahrzehnt lang erste Solistin u.a. bei der Rotterdam Dance Group und Amanda Millers Pretty Ugly Dance Company. Sie begann bereits 1989 mit der Kreation eigener Choreographien und widmet sich seit 1996 ausschließlich der Produktion und Aufführung eigener Stücke. Seit 1998 leitet sie ihr eigenes Tanzensemble und erlebte im Jahr 2000 ihren internationalen Durchbruch als ihre Arbeit ‚Nothing Hurts’ auf dem Berliner Theatertreffen aufgeführt wurde und anschließend durch Europa tourte. Im Jahr darauf erhielt sie den angesehenen niederländischen Lucas Hoving Preis für ihr Gesamtwerk. Bisher hat Anouk van Dijk fünfzehn abendfüllende Stücke sowie zwanzig kürzere Choreographien erarbeitet, die in der internationalen Presse und vom Publikum bejubelt wurden.

For almost a decade she was a lead soloist with amongst others the Rotterdam Dance Group and Amanda Miller's Pretty Ugly Dance Company. Having started to make choreographies already as early as 1989, since 1996 Anouk van Dijk dedicated herself exclusively to the creation and performance of her own work. She has been running her own dance company since 1998 and gained an international breakthrough in 2000 when her work ‘Nothing Hurts‘ was selected for the Berliner Theatertreffen and toured Europe afterwards. One year later she was awarded the prestigious Dutch Lucas Hoving Prize for her œuvre. Anouk van Dijk has by now created fifteen full evening works and more than twenty shorter choreographies, receiving critical acclaim from international press and audiences.
