Aleksandar Hut Kono ist Schriftsteller und lebt in London. Er veröffentlichte zwei vielbeachtete Gedichtbände in seinem Herkunftsland Kroatien, die mehrere Literaturpreise gewannen. Nach seinem Masterabschluss in Szenischem Schreiben für die Oper an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London verfasste er Opernlibretti. Seine Oper „Greenland“, komponiert von Evan Kassof, setzt sich mit Leni Riefenstahl auseinander und wurde 2015 am Barbican Centre in London uraufgeführt. Es folgten Vorstellungen am Royal Opera House in London 2016 und am Internationalen Opernfestival der Liszt-Akademie in Budapest 2016. Die Arbeit „Propaganda Machine Show“ wurde 2018 in Philadelphia produziert. Aleksandar Hut-Kono war Co-Autor der Kinderoper „Colony“ – ebenfalls komponiert von Evan Kassof – für das Royal Opera House in London 2014. Für ein Musiktheater-Langzeitprojekt der Oper Philadelphia im Jahr 2019 schrieb er den ersten Teil „Elevator“. Im selben Jahr kam seine und Evan Kassofs Science-Fiction-Oper „Ganymede 5“ beim Philadelphia Fringe Festival zur Uraufführung. 2022 begann er die Arbeit an der dreiaktigen Oper „Period Positive“.
