Geboren 1975 in Hamburg. Von 1998 bis 2002 Schauspielstudium an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. Während des Studiums gastierte er am Schauspielhaus Hannover in der Uraufführung von Lutz Hübners »Winner und Loser« unter der Regie von Barbara Bürk. Nach dem Studium war er am Deutschen Theater Göttingen engagiert. Seit 2006 ist Johannes Nehlsen freiberuflich tätig und gastierte u.a. beim Freischwimmer-Festival auf Kampnagel, an den Sophiensälen Berlin, am Theater Bremen und am Schauspielhaus Hamburg sowie am Jungen SchauSpielhaus. Darüber hinaus arbeitet er regelmäßig mit den freien Theaterkollektiven „M21“/Niedersachen und „Die Azubis“/Hamburg zusammen.
Zur Zeit ist Johannes Nehlsen im Jungen SchauSpielHausHamburg in »Maria Magdalena« zu sehen.
