Seit der Gründung im Jahre 2005 ist Hermann Book Ensemblemitglied des Jungen SchauSpielHauses. Zusammen mit den anderen Ensemblemitgliedern erhielt er 2006 den Nachwuchspreis der Freunde des Deutschen SchauSpielHauses in Hamburg.
Neben seinen zahlreichen Rollen in den Produktionen des Jungen SchauSpielHauses (u. a. in »Lügen«, »Alice im Wunderland«, »Der Zauberer von Oz«, »funny girl«, »Maria Magdalena« oder »Supergute Tage«) inszenierte Hermann Book nach »So lonely« (2014) in der Spielzeit 2015-16 das von ihm verfasste Stück »Maus unter« am Jungen SchauSpielHaus.
