Der Tenor Michele Angelini studierte Gesang und Fagott an der Ohio State University und begeistert seit seinem Aufsehen erregenden Europadebüt als Conte di Libenskof (Rossini „Il viaggio a Reims“) beim Rossini Festival Pesaro das Publikum mit seinen Interpretationen der Opernpartien Bellinis, Donizettis, Glucks, Mozarts und Rossinis. 2010 gewann er den 1. Preis der Savonlinna Opera Festival International Singing Competition, 2012 den 1. Preis der Gerda Lissner Foundation Singing Competition, 2013 war er Top Prize-Gewinner des Opera Index Award und erhielt den Encouragement Award der George London Foundation. Als Almaviva (Rossini „Il barbiere di Siviglia“) begeisterte er im Royal Opera House Covent Garden, an der Staatsoper Berlin sowie den Häusern in Stockholm, Bilbao, New Orleans, Pittsburgh und Sevilla. Weitere Engagments führten ihn zum Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, ans Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, an die Atlanta Opera, Opera Colorado, die Deutsche Oper am Rhein sowie das Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie Brüssel mit der Uraufführung von Merniers „Frühlings Erwachen“. In den letzten Jahren gab Michele Angelini außerdem sein Debüt an der New Yorker Met, beim Glyndebourne Festival, an der Bayerischen Staatsoper München und am Bolshoi Theater. Aktuell singt er am Teatro Real Madrid („La Cenerentola“), beim Donizetti Festival in Bergamo („Medea in Corinto“), an der Bayerischen Staatsoper („Il Turco in Italia“) und am New National Theatre in Tokyo.
